Luxury Accommodation
Log House Retreat has three spacious queen rooms all fitted with luxurious amenities. Each room has bathrobes - hairdryer - clock/radio - stereo - coffee and tea making facilities. The upstairs Queen suite has an ensuite and private lounge. A second Queen room upstairs has wonderful views and a shared bathroom downstairs. The intimate downstairs Queen suite has French doors opening onto a sun drenched deck. There is a guest reading lounge on the landing. |

Aside from the enormous downstairs lounge with its many sofas and easy chairs, guests are invited to use the extensively decked outdoor living area to make the most of the views and sunny aspect. Join your hosts Marg and Jack for complimentary pre-dinner canapés and a tasting of Central Otago wines. A delectable gourmet breakfast in the morning. Evening Meals by arrangement. |

Reasons to Stay
The Log House Retreat in Alexandra is New Zealand's largest log house. It took one and a half years to build and sits beautifully in harmony with its pine tree backdrop. There are many unique features such as the amazing log staircase with its spectacular tree roots intermingling with the tiled floor.

What to See & Do
There are many recreational opportunities nearby - fishing, gold panning, hiking, ice-skating and the thrill of a mountain bike ride through remote tussock and the famous Central Otago Rail Trail. Wine has become one of Central Otago's newest claims to fame with many of the local wineries offering tastings throughout the summer months.
Clyde is just down the road, Cromwell only 20 minutes away, Wanaka and Queenstown about one hour's drive.
