Unique Cycling Holiday
The 150km Rail Trail offers visitors a rare opportunity to explore some of the country's most impressive landscapes on a route not open to motor vehicles. Guests immerse themselves in this historic region with dedicated hosts and sightseeing options including a turn of the century engineering plant, schist tunnels, historic gold diggings and villages little touched by today's hustle and bustle. |

All Inclusive Packages
We offer Otago Rail Trail cycling packages from September to May each year. All packages include;
- Pick up and drop off in Queenstown
- Avanti mountain bike, helmet and waterproof panniers.
- Transfer to the start of the Otago Rail Trail in Clyde.
- Comfortable accommodation in heritage properties in Ranfurly.
- Personalised transport to and from the Rail Trail each day.
- Luggage Transfer
- Optional sight-seeing activities.
- Transport to iconic Central Otago taverns each evening.
- Rail Trail passport.
- Continental breakfast & afternoon tea each day.
You can also choose to travel on to Dunedin from the Middlemarch end of the Trail via the Taieri Gorge Scenic Railway. |

Hosted Accommodation
At the end of a day's cycling, you will have earned a little luxury and we have two properties designed for your comfort and enjoyment. This accommodation is for the exclusive use of Off The Rails' guests, in the art deco township of Ranfurly - heart of the Otago Central Rail Trail. This will be your home for the duration of your bicycle holiday on the Rail Trail. No need to pack up each day and carry gear with you.
Our tour hosts will discuss your options for the next day and arrange transport to and from your dinner destination in one of the local historic villages, such as Wedderburn, Naseby and St. Bathans. |

Choice of Tour Options
Standard tour: 4 days / 3 nights leisurely bicycle tour allowing time for sightseeing
Speedier tour: 3 days / 2 nights for those whose time is limited
Extended tour: 5 days / 4 nights with extra time for 4WD wine safari, golf, mountain biking, whatever takes your fancy.
